As everyone was gearing up for the festive celebrations, I found myself lacking enthusiasm. In December 2023, a heavy weight seemed to press upon my chest, mind, and perhaps even my soul. I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my current position. Rather than reveling in happiness, I was stuck wondering, worrying, and grumbling about my lack of enjoyment in my job and my uncertain growth trajectory.
Don’t misunderstand me; it is a pretty great job. Advertising, crafting unique stories, and creating experiential activities for consumers were all part of it, but I suppose it is a great job… just not for me. There’s a belief that conversations are like gardens; with each exchange, you plant a seed of thought that can bloom into opportunity. That’s precisely how I discovered that a job called Product Manager exists. I spoke with a colleague and he mentioned it in passing.
I delved deeper into the subject, watched numerous YouTube videos to grasp the basics, and voilà! I became intrigued. And the best part? I realized that the role included an aspect of UI/UX design. I may not be an exceptional UI designer, but oh my, designing awakens the child within me. I relish the process of creating something vibrant and sharing it with the world.

You might wonder why there’s such a gap above. That’s because it’s a reflection of my journey. Instead of diving straight into training, I procrastinated for 6 months— perhaps out of fear or doubt — and here I am, writing this today 22nd June, 2024. Don’t judge me; I’ve already done that myself, haha.
The good news is that it’s better late than never. As you read this, I’m enrolled in a Product Management training program by Utiva, and I’m in my third week of training. So far the experience has been great.
It’s safe to say I might be a little obsessed because I’ve immersed myself in everything related to Product Management. I now listen to PM podcasts, read books, watch YouTube videos, and I’m also trying to connect with other professionals in this field on LinkedIn. I’m excited to share all the details with you as I embark on this journey.
Stay with me as I make this significant transition into tech, and I hope you also take that big step you’ve been stalling on.
Bye!
